The Voodoo is a pylon model built for the Speed 400 class and was designed only for performance. He's still the Nr. 1 in this class and wins nearly every race. Every Voodoo is built in hand work and because of the good price and the extreme demand, delivery times around 4-6 weeks are normal.
Shipping:
The Voodoo is delivered very well packed ina hughe box, but don't get cheated about the size, the Voodoo is smaller as expected...
My setup:
There are many different setups for the Voodoo, but in my eyes only the HET 3W makes sense. He has a good price / performance ratio and fits from the drawn amerperage as well as the weight and the flying characteristics perfect.
Engine: HET 3W
ESC: Mystery 30A
Servos: Power HD DS65HB (2x aileron, 1x elevator)
Battery: Zippy Compact 1500mAh 3S 25C
Prop: Graupner CAM Speed 4.7x4.7
Receiver: OrangeRx R610
Engine: HET 3W
ESC: Mystery 30A
Servos: Power HD DS65HB (2x aileron, 1x elevator)
Battery: Zippy Compact 1500mAh 3S 25C

Receiver: OrangeRx R610
Build up:
The Voodoo is built up very far when you receive it. The rudders are attached to the wings as elastic flaps and the linkage is also built in. The elevator linkage is also lengthed correct and included. Originaly the aileron servos should be fixed in the beginning and the middle of the wing, but to get more space for the battery, I fixed them in the middle and the back of the wing. There you must take care that the back servo needs some placeholder to the wing, so that the fuselage can slip in between the wing and the servo when attaching it.
I used a Multiplex plug for connecting the wing servos to the fuselage, so you can transport the wing and the fuselage on its own and they don't need to stay attached the whole time. So you only need one plug and also you can't mix up the servos when connecting.
The rudder and elevator is pre glued and the frame and linkage for the elevator servo is also included. The built in of the levator servo takes so only a few seconds.
The travel ways for the elevator and ailerons are set up mechanicaly and even they look very less, they are more then enough. You should choose the mounting hole on the servo so that you have the most available travel. The receiver can then easily mounted in fron of the elevator frame.
The engine firewall is also already glued in, there you need only to drill new holes for the HET 3W, but that shouldn't be a problem.
A 30A ESC is enough, in flight the amperage goes down to around 27A and the ESC can be soldered directly to the engine.
As abttery you should choose a very thin one, I haven't found a thinner one then the Zippy Compact 3S 1500mAh 25C, he fits perfect can can handle the drawn amperage with ease. The ESC gets directly over the battery and behind the engine.
As you should have recognized already, the place inside the Voodoo is very, very small, so everything needs to be fixed very clean and with less room consumption. The cog from the manual fits perfect.
here are some pictures form the Voodoo in comparsion to my 500 helicopter and a standard 3S 2200 battery pack.

Flight characteristics:
The Voodoo is a toy only for preofessionals, not because he would have critical flight characteristics, its because of is unbelievable performance.
The take off with 75% throttle and 10% down ailerons is uncritical, he accelerates very fast and you should put back in the ailerons also quite fast.
Once he is running you will get a grin in your face that won't leave for the next three days. I forst thought that all Voodoo pilots would play a trick on me with that sentence, but believe me, it is true. The Voodoos flies with an accuracy that can be described best with the warm knife in the cold butter, every command will be done immediately and absolutely exact. The acceleration is breath taking and the noise is something very special. If you also add then the snap flap mixer, it becomes pervert. With a topspeed of good 200km/h you can turn in a 90° angle with nearly loosing no speed and do loopings with 3m diameter. i never flew something agile and precise before!
When it goes to the landing, then also a professional will get weak knees. He is very hard to see on a bigger distance and also he has a glide angle of infinite. To move ailerons down as much as it gets is a little help, but it also gets more complicated because he is then very slow on aileron commands. Also the touch down should be very soft, on the one side a full composite plane doesn't like any bumps and on the other side he can easily hook in with the wing and then spin. Fortunately you can get the fuselage, the wing, the elevator and the rudder as spare parts at the Höllein shop.

Conclusion:
Target group: Professional
Finishing: Easy, but because of the size a little bit tricky
Flight characteristics: Perfect
preis / performance ratio: Perfect, I haven't seen such a perfect built full composite plane before for that price!
The Voodoo makes a lot of fun and is a really bad ass, but you shouldn't get cheated, landing is very difficult and because of his size he is not a plane for inbetween. If you pilot such planes, you should already have the experience and know what you are doing. Take care, this thing is much more addictive then you would think!
