Times have changed, nitro planes became a minority on the flying fieds. Sometimes it feels so good to fly a nitro plane, so I wasn't able to say no as it was offered to me for a good price. She had many flight hours on her back and she wasn't treated good, but she flies and that with a fantastic flight image. And if were honest, a warbird needs a combustion engine or?
Shipping:
I purchased this Mustang used, so I can't tell you anything about shipping.
My setup:
I purchased it used, so everything was already built in. There are six standard servos, a receiver battery and a receiver. The Msutang doesn't have retracts but flaps which are operated by one servo yo there is at least a six channel transmitter necessary. Originaly it is designed for a 6,5ccm engine, but the built in engine was defect and I changed it to a GMS 2000 with 10ccm and a 12x6 prop.
Build up:
Also here I can't tell you much. But the work shouldn't be too much and around 5 to 10 hours because Hangar 9 has a high quality and there shouldn't be any bad surprises.
Flight characteristics:
The Mustang flies very nice and a hot tip for everybody who wants to get into nitro planes.
Take off isn't a problem, but she needs control on the rudder the whole time to stay straight. In the air she flies nearly on it's own and has a very wide range of speed because of the flaps. Also she can do classic aerobatics, only in knife edge she needs some persuasiveness. The 10ccm engine fits perfect, with the 6,5ccm engine she would be underpowerd.
Landing really makes great fun, if you set the flaps, then she really slowly glides in and with a little throttle you can do a buttersmooth touchdown. Landing is so much fun, that I normaly do around 10 landings durig one flight. You only need to take care to be slow enough and touch down smooth, otherwise there is a big risk of a nose over. The construction could take it without problems, but your motor stops and it is annoying to pull her back to the starting place...
Unfortuantely the wear from the preowner is quite big and because of that I will soon send her in retirement. if I shouldn't find a buyer I will get her a new coating and maybe some retracts, then she would be a perfect warbird...

Conclusion:
Target group: Intermediate
Finishing: ?
Flight characteristics: Good
Price / performance ratio: Okay
Who likes to fly warbirds and nitro planes should get one, but take care, a nitro plane means that you have to take many equipment with you, oily fingers, sometimes more time on the ground then in the air and always the risk of a engine stop in the air...
