The T-Rex 500 ESP is a full capable 3D helicopter from Align and has a very good price / performance ratio. The ESP have been the high end version and the tail rotor is shaft driven.
Shipping:
As all models by Align, the T-Rex is shipped in a very small box, you nearly can't belive that there is a helicopter inside. But as you expected, everything is protected very well.

Build up:
The whole T-Rex series have been discussed a thousand times in boards all over the world, there are no surprises left. The manual is very good and step by step a helicopter is born. All parts from Align have a very good quality and building makes fun. You need around 10 hours until you can hover the first time.
Flying characteristics:
Also there are no surprises. The helicopter is just working wonderful. Absolute precise control and no things you wouldn't await. The tail is, regarding to the GY401, the S9257 and the shaft, a class of its own. I'm using three different rpm's, 2200 for relaxed hovering at sunset, 2400 for classical aerobatics and 2550 for 3D.
Conclusion:
Target group: Advanced
Finishing: Much work, but very good described
Flying characteristics: Very good
Price / performance ratio: Yes, helicopters are expensive, but if you won't go for a HK, then the T-Rex have the best ratio.
The 500 ESP is a very good 3D machine and does not have any weak points. With the SK3 he has more then enough power (1.7kW) but can also be moved very relaxed.
