The mustang isn't like new anymore, but she has some nice features and is built with love for some details. The substance for a restauration seems to be perfect.

Restauration:
Neertheless she looks quite good, the devil was in the details.
As first i put out the engine to disassemble it and check if everything is ok. There was the first surprise. The nuts for the mounting screws have not been linked to the engine mounting struts. So the engine was installed bevore the sheeting on the upper side was supplied. Perfect. I love things like that. With some tricks, i removed the nuts and installed some impact nuts, don't ask me how i did that... So this is now a safe connection and also you can remove the engine anytime again.
The fuel filter also was resinified so I changed the filter and all hoses. The engine looks like it was broken in and used with castor oil, so I'm quite intressted if the engine will work...

Up next there was some work that needed to be done inside the fuselage. The defect glowing battery was removed and also the defect receiver battery. With a model of that size you should not do any experiments with old batteries. Then I wanted to screw on the wings and there was the next surprise. The plastic screws the pre-owner gave me are too short. he M5x65 needs to be used. not really an easy to get size... But when she is standing built up in front of you, you know that it was worth it when you see details like the spur gear on the original position which is also moving like the real one.
Also the tank connection needs to be replaced because it was not tight 100% anymore. Also the engine was not tight in the cylinder head gasket, but this was no problem to fix.

And the engine is running!
What an undescribeable feeling and sound whenn a fourstroke engine comes to life! I never had a such easy to start engine. Three times sucking with the thumb on the silencer, two strokes with the screwdriver on the prop and it was running.
The sound will be unbelieveable in a low pass!

Flight characteristics:
The maiden have been interessting. As i knew from my old Mustang, these one isn't also easy to take off. You need to pull the elevator full when beginning to accelerate and then you need to drop pulling to prevent a too early take off. Beside that she wants to go to the left side, so you also have some work with the rudder. I take off with something around 1/4 of the flaps which seems to be very good. Up in the air I recognized that the CG was way too much in front, so I needed to add 40 gramms in total to the tail.
The flying characteristics are warbird like without bad surprises. Turns must be helped with some rudder and you shouldn#t fly her too slow. The engine is perfect scale like, but in the lower end. As the original you can climb with only 40° and all figures needs to be done with good speed. But the sound and the optic in a low pass are worth everything else.
Landing is quite fast, but for the high weight still uncritical and easy to manage. Also the retracts are strong enough and don't cause any problems.
